Applications

Why Razorlux for Hazardous Area Lighting

Proven Safety Engineering

Since 1999, we have specialised in industrial LED for classified sites. Our explosion-proof designs include precision-engineered flame routes to cool fleeing gases below auto-ignition temperatures – an important safety element that has been tested and validated by TÜV Rheinland.

The strengthened ADC12 aluminium enclosure is structurally sound and can handle internal pressure surges. Tempered glass lenses provide 95% light transmittance and IK08-IK10 impact resistance for use in high vibration situations such as offshore platforms and mining pits.

Component Quality Standards

· LED Chips: Bridgelux originals rated at 700mA for minimal lumen degradation

· Drivers: MEANWELL HLG series with 10kV surge protection

· Thermal Management: 2.0mm aluminum PCB prevents LED overheating across wide temperature ranges

· Surface Treatment: Powder coating provides C5-M marine-grade corrosion resistance

Manufacturing Credentials

Our Xi'an and Zhuhai facilities hold ISO9001 certification (maintained since 2001) and operate national-level research labs authorized by China's Development and Reform Commission. Over 200 patents cover LED Packaging, driver control, and housing innovations.

Explosion Proof Led Fixtures

Applications in Explosive Atmospheres

We recommend upgrading the lighting system to explosion proof led fixtures.

Oil & Gas Facilities

Refineries and offshore installations need Zone 1/Division 1 approved lighting that can handle hydrocarbon vapours and salt spray. The C5-M corrosion grade provides long-term endurance in maritime conditions and its explosion containment features meet API RP 500 classification norms.

Chemical and Pharmaceutical Plants

Fixtures must be completely sealed against the intrusion of solvent vapours and reactive atmospheres harmful >80 CRI rating means it may be used for accurate colour assessment in quality control. All internal electrical components are segregated in spark-contamination housings.

Grain Handling and Food Processing

Class II Division 1 settings containing flammable dust (grain, flour, starch) need fixtures that do not allow dust entry and keep surface temperatures below ignition values. The finned heat sink design minimises heat build-up if dust collects on outside surfaces.

Explosion Proof Led Fixtures

Underground Mining

IP68 protection prevents water ingress during shaft flooding. Wide operating temperature ranges and vibration-resistant mounting suit tunnel construction and coal mining operations. Anti-glare optics reduce eye strain during extended shifts.

Packaging and TransportationCommon Questions

What's the difference between Explosion Proof and Intrinsically Safe fixtures?

Explosion Proof (Ex d) fixtures contain explosions within reinforced housings using controlled flame paths. Intrinsically Safe (Ex i) designs limit electrical energy to non-igniting levels. Our fixtures use containment methods suited for high-wattage illumination in Zone 1 and Division 1 areas.

Can waterproof IP-rated LEDs substitute for explosion-proof fixtures?

No. Standard IP65 fixtures lack explosion containment features required by safety regulations. Non-certified equipment in classified areas violates OSHA/ATEX laws and creates liability risks.

How do I choose the correct T-rating?

Match the fixture's T-rating to your hazardous substance's Auto-Ignition Temperature (AIT). For materials igniting at 200°C, select T4 fixtures (max surface temp 135°C). Contact our team for T-rating guidance based on your chemical inventory.

What maintenance is required?

Inspect gaskets quarterly for wear. Verify housing bolt torque maintains explosion-proof gap integrity. Clean lenses with non-abrasive materials. Detailed maintenance checklists are included with each order.

Do you offer emergency backup options?

Yes. Select models include explosion-proof battery chambers providing 90+ minutes of emergency lighting per NFPA 101 requirements, maintaining full hazardous area certification during backup mode.
